Long time no blog

Been a longtime since we were on blogger to fill ya'll in on the happenings at the Schroeder household. In a nutshell we moved to Rowlett, Texas where Ryan is working at a great clinic called Whole Health Chiropractic, I am home with the kids and am homeschooling Reed and Ella, and Adelyn just turned 1!!

It's so hard to believe Adelyn is one already. Seems like just yesterday I was boarding a plane nine months pregnant anticipating meeting her and praying hard we would make it to Minnesota before she arrived. She's had an exciting journey already living in Honduras, Bloomington, and now the Dallas area (three metro areas). We feel so blessed that God chose us to be her parents. Addi's got an amazing personality and is very mild mannered (so far). We even had the nursery staff at church offering us money if they could just keep her a little longer. She truly is a gift!!

Schroeder Family Future Plans

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

We hope that this letter finds you well in the comfort of our Lord and Savior. We have been enjoying our time back in Minnesota, even in California for a period, spending time reconnecting with family and friends. There are many more people we look forward to spending time with as summer progresses.

This past year has been an amazing yet humbling walk with the Lord. We have been so grateful to you all for upholding us and sending us to Honduras. True fruit of lives coming into the Kingdom was accomplished. Thousands of Hondurans and dozens of missionaries received chiropractic care as well. This could not have been accomplished if it wasn’t for the faithfulness of you, our supporters! Thank you for your support!

For the last couple of months we have been making plans to continue our time in Honduras serving the poor. This was a choice that we did not make easily, but felt the Lord directing us to serve in this area of great need on a full-time basis. There is currently no ministry present so we were going to have to develop our own ministry as a chiropractic clinic in this area. With this decision to stay in Honduras many challenges have been raised in our lives, some were expected while some were not. I do not wish to go into detail on issues, but we recognize the need for more preparation in our lives and dealing with our student debt issues prior to creating a new ministry in missions on a full time basis. We are now planning on staying in Minnesota with me looking for a position in a clinic, preferably integrated, as a chiropractor. Jamie will be looking for part-time work as a registered nurse. We will be moving into our Bloomington home in the beginning of June as we were unable to find renters as of yet. We are unsure if we will live there and find employment or if we will move to a different location if a good job opportunity was to arise.
We hope that you will continue to support world-wide missions through other missionaries as Matthew 28:19 commands:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Many missionaries need your support as in these tough economic times many missionaries struggle to be the hands of the body to accomplish this work to all the nations.

We know the Lord will continue to use us for ministry to the poor, and we hope to bring a team down of willing Christians to serve in Honduras for 1 week. This would be a team like those we have worked with WGO this last year.

Thank you so much for your love and support this last year and we pray that, “The Lord will bless you and keep you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Love,
The Schroeder’s (Dr. Ryan, Jamie, Reed, Ella, & Addi)

Miss Adelyn is 6 months old!

God is full of wonderful blessings and suprises life. Adelyn, our little suprise, is already 6months old. She has proven to be such a blessing to our family. She is so gentle and sweet and loves to give a big smile more than anything. You can already see the great bond between her, Reed, and Ella. She loves her goofy big brother and sister (who loves to hold her at every chance). Children truly are a gift from above and I thank God for bringing those little suprises in life into our lives even if in the beginning we are asking Him, "Why now!?" When I think of the children God has given us to watch over my heart swells with joy. And now some pics from Addi's first six months on this Journey.

A Finished Home

We are thrilled to share with our family of supporters that the house for Aleida, Hostillio, Clarissa, Christopher and Danielito is finished! The roof is up, walls are done, and doors are installed! This is a wonderful tangible example of God's faithfullness. As I have shared previously a short-term missionary from Arkansas felt compelled to give this family a home and it has been a true blessing to facilitate this gift. As you know we did not go to Honduras to build homes and do not believe it is our new calling. As with all of our lives the Lord will uniquely call us to His will daily if we are ready to listen.

A friend, Rick Barrett, who guest preached at our church in Honduras gave a message on this subject. While we may know globally where the Lord is calling us, i.e. in our church, foreign field, or at home, we must seek His guidance daily to unique opportunities to serve Him each and every day. These unique opportunities can be surprising and we must be ready to follow.

Jamie and I feel that calling to follow. We know we are to follow Him, but our flesh desires to go our own way. We know that the Lord is faithful and we must remain faithful. We are confident on the Lord's call to us in Honduras, but we struggle with the obstacles to continuing there and some of the challenges that poses to our family of 5. Jamie feels the stresses of this calling specifically at home (other peoples homes) when I am away doing ministry through chiropractic. Please pray for His comfort for our lives.

I am working on our new newsletter and hope to be mailing that out to our supporters in the next 2 weeks. If you would prefer an email copy instead, please let us know.
